  • Nice photo. I like how the splashes and clouds almost blend.

Hm. Were you facing south for this? My only disappointment is that the background is in shadow and hard to see. On Google Earth, the South Shore is the only thing that high, and it’s covered with foliage and I would have liked to see that.

I was facing south, mostly, yes. The sun wasn’t in the ideal spot to catch the trees on the hills, plus the white of the water washed out the levels anyway. And also I’m not good at phone photography. Haha.

Some phones are better than others. I think my iPhone 5 includes a function to take two shots at once and blend them together. That doesn’t always work; most of my tricks belong to film-camera days. Your composition is really quite good, though.

Thanks. The composition was really the only thing I could control…what with the “rule of thirds” and all (my phone by default cut the viewport into thirds when the camera is launched…made it easy).

When the fall rolls around I can take some foliage photos for you. Might as well. We have a lot of diverse tree species around here, which can make for some interesting visuals.
