Punny Band/Food Names

Around Thanksgiving one year, Seth (Buzzgrinder editor) came up with the idea of “foodifying” band names, and the resulting graphics we used for the post are below. I did the Photoshop work to screw with the band logo’s, and most of the band name bastardizations were mine. Had a hard time figuring out who Lunches really was, since the band photo and t-shirt art didn’t look familiar.

I always liked first one, The Famine, because that was the band’s name already; no need to change it. This is the level of humor you’re about to witness.

The Famine:

Testamint (Testament):

Bananathallo (Anathallo):

Benea Peach (Benea Reach):

These Arms Are Snacks (These Arms Are Snakes):

The Cake The Croissant The Brownie (The Snake The Cross The Crown):

Between the Burrito and Brie (Between the Buried and Me):

Food Fighters (Foo Fighters):

Beer Before the Mash of Grains (Fear Before the March of Flames):

Bun Iver (Bon Iver):

Cokeland (Copeland):

Pearamore (Paramore):

Rice (Thrice):

Sandwich Engage (Kilswitch Engage):

Lunches (Trenches):

The Dillinger Escape Bran (The Dillinger Escape Plan):

Panic at the Crisco (Panic at the Disco):

Protest the Gyro (Protest the Hero):

John Mayo (John Mayer):

Meshugar (Meshuggah):

Lye By Misteak (Lye By Mistake):

Norma Bean (Norma Jean):

Radiobread (Radiohead):

Coheed and Cappuccino (Coheed and Cambria):

Explosions in the Pie (Explosions in the Sky):

These are great. You know about Anathallo? They were one of the first indie bands I heard, and in my opinion they are difficult to match in creativity. Perhaps you heard that Trenches have a new album coming out in September—looking forward to it! I should like Foo Fighters because most everyone does, but something about them just doesn’t appeal to me.

We covered Anathallo and Trenches a lot. I wasn’t too into them to be honest. I don’t think I actually listened to Anathallo until you mentioned them here 🙂 Interesting stuff. I will listen more during work on Monday.
