Wednesday Humpday Midday Song: Assemble from Wartech: Senko no Ronde

Senko no Ronde is a weird game. It has elements of bullet hell/shoot-em-up mixed with one-on-one competitive fighting, with a strange angular (called “isometric” in design terms) perspective.

Anyways, this song is typical of the soundtrack on all installments of the franchise: frantic rhythm with “slow,” flowing melodies on top of it. INOJ was one singer I can recall who made it a point to do the smooth melodies vs. staccato beats mix-up, although in a different genre. Nowadays, with cheap and easy music creation software and the like, experimentation is rife and this idea has likely been explored thoroughly.

With this song here, it presents an interesting approach to soundtracking that can often escape notice. It could just sound like typical hybrid electronic music if you don’t pay attention.
